Sample Email to Your CT Legislator
Dear Representative/Senator __________,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is __________ and I am a __________. This year, my friends and I have identified a significant need for more access to financial literacy education in CT high schools. This issue is significant to us because personal finance is integral to adulthood, whether an individual is applying for financial aid, taking out a loan, paying taxes, budgeting, or investing. We believe that without this knowledge, CT is doing a disservice to its students and their futures.
Unfortunately, the lack of legislation aiming to improve access to personal finance education in Connecticut contributes to this void of knowledge. Therefore, we hope to propose a bipartisan bill to expand access to personal finance education in the 2023 session.
If you identify with our goal, we would like to seek your guidance to make this piece of legislation a reality and talk further about solving this problem. Below, I attached a presentation that dives deeper into the urgency of this problem and our goals for CT’s future in education. If you want to learn more about our mission, please read it. Furthermore, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email. Thank you so much for your time and have a great day!
Sincerely,
